A Certain Quantity of Conversations Or, The Completely Altered Nightbook

Alexander Vvedensky, Translated by Thomas Epstein and Translated by Eugene Ostashevsky

Alexander Vvedensky (1904–1941) was a Russian poet and dramatist. The bulk of his work was lost in the chaos of World War II, notably the novel Murderers, you are fools. Much of what survived was compiled in the collections Alexander Vvedensky: An Invitation for Me to Think (NYRB Poets) and Russia’s Lost Literature of the Absurd: a Literary Discovery: Selected Works of Daniil Kharms and Alexander Vvedensky (Cornell University Press).
