Chinua Achebe (1930–2013) was the author of Things Fall Apart, No Longer at Ease, Arrow of God, A Man of the People, Anthills of the Savannah (all William Heinemann Ltd), and other novels. He was the recipient of the Nigerian National Merit Award and other honors, and a Bard College faculty member.
