Marc Anthony Richardson’s “Anarcha” is the opening chapter for The Serpent Will Eat Whatever Is in the Belly of the Beast, a novel poem. This work in progress has received a Creative Capital Award, a Sachs Program Grant for Arts Innovation from the University of Pennsylvania, an Andrew W. Mellon scholar residency from Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa, and an Artistic Practitioner Fellowship from Brown University’s Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America (CSREA).
