Biography

A. K. Ramanujan (1929-1993) was a poet, translator, folklorist, and philologist from Mysore, India. Writing in both English and Kannada, his poetry deals with themes of hybridity and transnationalism. His collections include Second Sight, Selected Poems, and The Striders (all Oxford U. Press). The Collected Poems of A.K. Ramanujan (Oxford U. Press) received a Sahitya Akademi Award after the author’s death.
