Biography

Coleman Dowell (1925-1985) was the author of a long line of short fiction works published in New DirectionsConjunctions, and the English Quarterly mostly in the 70s and 80s. After his death, a collection of his work titled The Houses of Children: Collected Stories was published, and his earlier novel, One of the Children is Crying, was republished (both Weidenfeld & Nicolson).
