Jane Pek was born and raised in Singapore, and now lives in New York, where she works as a lawyer at an investment company. Her short fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Brooklyn Review, Witness, and The Best American Short Stories. Her debut novel, The Verifiers (Vintage), came out in 2022.
